It was just a fleeting moment
When your hand took hold of mine
Alas, it’s driving me crazy
I’ve lost track of time
How much I yearn to see you
And yet I fear the day
For what if you don’t know
What I want to hear you say?
What if, by your face, I see
You don’t return my love?
What if you don’t tell me
That it’s me you have to have?
I’d throw myself upon my bed
And cry and cry and cry
Every word I speak
Would dissolve into a sigh
But then again, I ask myself
What if what I see
Shows that you return my love
Multiplied by three?
Oh, such joy, such rapture
Such boundless, endless glee
Just imagine my delight
At being loved by thee?
