The profound revelation

When you look at me
It’s not really me you see
It’s the freckles on my cheek
It’s the space between my teeth
It’s the fall of my hair
It’s the makeup I don’t wear
But when he looks at me
That isn’t what he sees
He sees a twinkle in my eye
He sees the sadness of my sigh
He sees a song in my laugh
He sees the feelings in my heart
And when you look at me
I want to hide behind a tree
Cos I’m afraid that I won’t be
Exactly what you want to see
And then he looks at me
And suddenly I feel so free
To do just what I please
Cos I know he loves me for me.
